Computer randomly opens folders and files.

Hi all,
Two days ago my computer starting mis-behaving, it seems to randomly and repeatedly open files. Its favorite was Power cinema so I uninstalled that but its still doing it which makes work impossible.
If it opens something like notepad it also starts writing random gibberish. Sometimes the keyboard stops working.
I have wireless laser desktop 6000 keyboard and mouse combo which I replaced the batteries in yesterday. The keyboard has a built in volume control which also randomly appears on the bottom right hand of the screen even though it is not pressed.

Does anyone know why this is happeneing? What can fix it?

Do you have an AV program and if so have you run a scan lately?

Yes, Bit Defender ran a scan last night but it didn't detect anything except 1 file that was 'suspect'
Thing is my computer isn't connected to the internet and I haven't introduced anything from an external source.

or a folder on the C: drive called /I386, you can run System File Checker which will repair/replace corrupted files. From a Command Prompt type:

sfc /scannow (with a space between the C and the /)

Have you tried a System Restore?

Just a wild idea

I've an IBM laptop that can do some wacky things when my company provided PDA is nearby. It has to do with the internal cell phone. The most annoying thing is it's affect on a wired USB mouse. The mouse pointer goes where it wants and when it wants to. Some types of cell phones are known to cause interference in a number of devices. This one definitely messes with the laptop.

Solved (I think)

It did turn out to be the keyboard. I replaced it with a usb connected one and it hasn't been playing up. Would there be a confict with the mouse as its microsoft and the keyboard is not? I've literally just stopped using the microsoft key board and plugged in the other one.

They are separate devices so they work independently. Shouldn't be a problem.
