Missing .dll

Hello all,

This is a long shot, but haven't found an answer anywhere else. I have a friend that I help with her computer and she called me after trying to work on her Dell Precision workstation herself and finally gave up. She's getting an error message at startup saying that "file xjlkxbir.dll could not be found". The machine runs fine after hitting the OK button. I searched Google and Microsoft, but could find no references to this DLL file. Anybody here had the same experience? How do we get rid of this error message if we don't know what application it is related to?

It's likely some random name.

Many pests pick the random name to hide out. You would remove this by finding it in the registry and deleting it there.

Click Start

click run

Type

cmd

bit enter

type

chkdsk /r (Space between the k and /)

hit enter.

Enter y

when you retsart your computer it will scan for errors and fix them. Doing this command takes a while, so I would do this before you go to bed. Will be hopefully fixed in the morning.

I had a problem like that. Click-Start-Run-Type in msconfig click ok. Click startup. Look at the list. Do you see xjlkxbir? If so un-check.Reboot. Error message will not pop up any more. If you want to remove from the startup list I can help with that. Hope this helps.
