If so, that RUNDLL error in C:\Program Files\Common Files\ParetoLogic\UUS2\UUS.dll relates to that.

Hi Pamela.

From what you say this doesn't seem to be the same problem as the paretologic one, and you may have done better starting your own thread/discussion.

Since you are here, this seems to be a Permissions problem but without knowing more about your system and/or software you use, we may be only guessing.

If you are using Windows XP, and if the email software you are using is Outlook Express, then see if you can 'save' the file Update.doc to a different location.

Highlight the attachment, right click it, and click "Save As", then in the Save As dialog window, select a new location to save it; eg, try the Desktop.

If that fails, please tell us exactly what happens, including any error messages.

If we cannot resolve this quickly, then I will suggest you re-post your problem as a new thread, so that others can contribute as well. The problem with posting in older discussions is that members tend to pass on by when they see old discussions revived.

One important step to take when saving a file and finding a program to open it is to check the box that says always use this program to open this file, then you won't have to find a program when receiving this file again. For windows XP, Outlook express. Ps: this is about a year late from original post. hope it helps someone.

What you said here sounds to me like you've done a common mistake. I am particularly referring to your saying that you uninstalled it and got a message that said that some items couldn't be deleted. I don't know what Pareto Logic is, but from what it sounds, it is one of those programs that has an icon in the System Tray (the lower right corner of your monitor). If so, then the reason you got that message is that the program was active while you tried to uninstall it.

Before you try to uninstall ANYTHING that has an icon in the System Tray, always right-click its icon and close it first. That will help to make sure that it is inactive when you try to uninstall it and in most cases, it would be properly uninstalled.

Thanks, Don, this worked for me. I'd uninstalled the ParetoLogic program but hadn't realised it had left Scheduled Tasks. I deleted them and rebooted and the error message didn't appear. Useful tip too to look there in future if I've uninstalled a program.

I just started receiving this same message?? I have now deleted the offender.YAY's ;p!! Very much appreciated your easy fix for this error. I couldn't find out what this was. I was getting Trojan in every search on this error & some big technical info attached.Grrr)
