Windows JPEG Viewer

For some reason I am having problems when I double click on a jpeg photo. Windows will only open the photo in a small view version and not in the larger full screen version that it used to do. I guess I did something and forgot what I did. I only remember installing Nero and it took over the opening of jpegs. I went to the photos properties and tried opening it using the different programs like Paint, Windows Picture and Fax and others but none work like they used to. Can anyone suggest a program that I can use to open up jpegs in the future that will enlarge them full screen without a large program opening and me waiting until it does?

Try re-associating jpeg files

It seems that with Properties you can only use a different application once, and not set the application as the default.

I would try to re-associate the jpegs. Find a jpeg and right click it and in the menu select "Open with". A new menu will display. Select "Choose program".

In the new window see if your Windows Picture and Fax viewer is listed as an option near the top. If not, scroll down to find it and select it. Make sure the option "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is ticked. Then click Apply/OK, (or it may just be OK).

Test and see if it works.

Then I would open Nero, goto its Tools > Options, and find the area where the file associations are, and remove the tick for jpegs. At the same time you may want to remove any other associations it has cunningly grabbed that are normally used by other applications.
