Windows XP forum: Problem with "eAccessViolation"

Read these articles while you are running every malware (virus, spyware, etc. ) you can think of.

in the past, a AV scan from e-Accelerator AV or from StopSign anti-spyware? Perhaps from a pop-up offering a free scan(scam!)???
Massive amounts of complaints on this from 2002-2003.
Known for drive by downloads/installs & false positives.
They claim to have cleaned up their act but giving a wolf a curly hair-do & same cosmetic dentistry doesn't make him a sheep!
If so, check this sites page (about 1/2 way down) under
"de-Listed Applications" & write down all the assorted Domain names there(plus StopSign and "e"anything) to create a search list of names to search for on your computer. Perhaps start looking in your CP>Add/Delete programs list, then move on to Start>Search all files & folders & any un-installers listed.
Bookmark/ add to your IE Favorites List for future reference the site & always check there before visiting sites or trying any Anti-spy/adware/programs.:

They claim the program was discontinued (the original) so perhaps thats why access problem.
A check of a post at Castlecops also found these names associated w/eAccelerator:y.extreme-dm.com ,
t4c.eacceleration.com , www.adserver.com . DO NOT VISIT THESE SITES!!!
" I ran all of my virus protection programs last night. My desktop came up clean". What AVs/Anti-Spy do you have /did you run? You mean you only scanned your "Desktop" or the entire computer? Are there others using machine with their own desktops as well?
Have you a System Restore Point available that is "for sure" before problem started?
Suggest you download and run a free trial of Ewido and see what it finds and let it fix what it can as it seemed to help poster affected above. Hoping this helps with root cause. If it finds and fixes sources, then perhaps the damage can be corrected by running a checkdisk/repair to correct any system file corruption.
