Mouse freezes on WIn XP and NO virus detected

I have had my mouse freeze and the only way it attempts to move is with a restart. I have ran several scans and NO virus is present. Can you please help me?

I Had that trouble too and have since installed the Microsoft Intellipoint Mouse software available at microsoft .com using standard mouse as the selection at end of install
