Setting XP Pro Function Keys

I use a Mac at home (iBook G4, OS X Panther) and I love using F11 to hide all the open windows and show the desktop. I have a PC at work and I want to know if I can program a function key in XP to minimize all the open windows and show the desktop, no matter what program I'm in. I've googled this topic and scoured XP's help function and nothing is helpful at all.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

My work system:
Dell Dimension 3000
XP Pro Version 2002 SP 2
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz

Open programs..

No can do. I too would like to do the same but I can't find anything to do it either. Most users don't have more than two windows open at a time. Memory won't hack it unless you have at least 1gb. Paging would slow it down considerably. That's one reason I use 3gb on this machine. I do a lot of photoshop, listen to piped music, surfing in Firefox (multiple tabs) and downloading all at the same time.

There is a Microsoft Powertoy called Virtual Desktop Manager, which allows to switch to 4 different desktops from the taskbar. Just configure a blank desktop and switch to it with one click. Or you can have 4 open at the same time.

Try holding down the Windows logo key and pressing D.

yes, if you have an xp kb attached, most all the shortcut keys should be printed on the keys (they windows ones typically on the front (facing you) keys, ctrl ones on top, so on.
