Media Player Volume Increase?

by io - 2/26/04 4:22 PM

Hi all,

Its very rare that i post in forums as i usually search until i find a similar problem but googling for ages and etc has not helped me find a solution (i dunno what im lookin for to be fair)

Basically here is my problem,

My speakers are crap just now as im waiting for my creative 5.1s to be replaced (creative seem to be giving me the support of a false leg made from a strand of hair. Has anyone else had prblems with support from them coz its taken me 4 months to get the wrong part sent to me never mind the rest of the problems like audigy drivers on xp etc!)

I might as well ask if anyone knows how to get 5.1 5300 inspire working without the volume control plugged in? Its probably worth 5 but its left me with no sound as its faulty(my mates dial works on my speakers) and i cant find the part in any shops or on ebay. I refuse to pay creative another penny too.

Anyways failing that, you have to strain to hear my crap speakers when playing on any software, ie media player, power dvd, games etc. However i have a AverUSB tv thing and the volume on that when up full is very loud. Anything basic you might think i havent tried, chances are i have. System volume is full, media player and all other apps are full volume too but still so quiet. One good thing about creatives software and xp, is by the time you get the mixer to open without crashing your a microsoft certified proffesional

Its just strange how the TV thing gets the most out of my speakers and the rest struggle to go above quiet talking volume.

Every speaker option i know of is up full, even the bass and treble. Is there any software out there that can increase system volume?

Any help you could give me would be great as i have computer audio uni work to do and i cant hear the quieter sounds without shoving both speakers to my ear and stopping breathing. The trouble with this is, apart from looking like i have mental issues to my flatmates, it makes working a chore.

Thanks very much for reading :o)

Kind regards,

Clarky.

Ill just list all hardware i know off incase there may be issues.

AMD 2200+
ASUS V7333
Some cheap external powered time speakers i stole of a friend
SB Audigy 5.1 internal
1024MB DDR
GForce4 4600 ti
