font / form problems, MS software not very robust?

I recently installed a font manager to manage my fonts (Bitstream Font Navigator with CD12).

The first image I have posted here contains a menu-set in Outlook. The form seems extend beyond window range, and you can resize the window. From what I have seen, only a couple menus are affected and the rest are fine, what gives, is this poor testing on microsoft's part, or can this be fixed with a simple tweak in the registry by either changing the font or extending that window.

The second picture I have posted is from word, and is related and unrelated at the same time. The fonts have not been changed, but the forms extend beyond window boundries. This is due to an installation of MS Office 2003 Proofing Tool. The installation introducd a wide range of options into some of the menus of MS Word. Is there a way to correct correct this also (probably same answer as above.) The picture is below.

You assume correctly that I am using MS Office 2003.

I've seen this effect since Windows 1.0. There are no plans to fix this.

You can put the system and other fonts back to the stock settings and it should work well enough.

I do know some desktop modders that think the desktop mods should work, but this is not an OS that you can do that to without side effects.

Maybe this is the wrong OS for this?
