Windows XP forum: SERIAL PORT!

SERIAL PORT!

I'm trying to use the serial port (COM1) tot transfer some files but windows keep saying "Can't open serial port!!! Access denied" it seems like this "COM1" is being used by another program. Any ideas?

Check Device Manager - look at the properties for 'COM1'(dounble-click the entry) and make sure it's set to "Use This Device" at the bottom of the General tab.
