start menu

Ever since I updated my Windows XP last week, whenever I click on the Start button, "Set Program Access and Defaults" shows up on the Start Menu. I want to get rid of this item. But when I right-click on this item, there is no delete button. How can I get rid of it? Thank you.

Go start/control panels/taskbar & start menu, click on start menu,customize,advanced and down near the bottom and uncheck show on start menu!

On my computer it is #34 in the start menu items. You have to scroll to near the bottom to find it!

Set Program Access and Defaults - Start Menu

The article [Q328326] states there are two administrative policies to control the Set Program Access and Defaults feature (removes the icon from the Start menu, and hides it from the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel) that is included with the Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1), and it requires editing the registry.
