Windows Me and Norton anti virus latest version

I am with an old pc with Windows Me. do not want to change to xp.. costly.
however need to change norton anti virus 2000 edition to perhaps latest one 2009.( i got this pc down from the attic only a week ago!!), should i really change this norton anti virus ?

An out of date antivirus is as good as none.

-> Look up AVAST as it's free and from memory it runs on ME.

Norton Antivirus 2009 won't work with Windows ME

Windows ME is an outdated operating system. However, Norton does offer antivirus software compatible with ME. Here's the link: http://shop.symantecstore.com/store/symnahho/ContentTheme/pbPage.PlatformIssue2007Launch/ThemeID.518300 that will provide you to there ME compatible stuff.

Norton AntiVirus - Latest definition Files

You can still find virus definition files for your original Norton software on their website at this address -
