Windows Installer Cleanup Utility can be downloaded from the above link and it will remove installed programs that can't be uninstalled from the Add-Remove Programs List because you don't have the cd anymore or because the program itself can't locate its uninstall file info.

There is one version of this utility available for individual windows versions from W95, W98, ME, NT 4.0, 2K, XP, and Server 2003. Direct download can be reached at this link:

but try going to Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools and then System Info. Once there, click Tools at the toolbar, then Windows Update Wizard Uninstaller from the menu and see if it's listed there. If it is, you should be able to uninstall it from that program instead.

and do a search on that particular Q or KB number....most of those hotfixes have instructions regarding installation that includes information about how to uninstall them, unless once installed that cannot be uninstalled and this may be one of those items.

Since so much about the update center keeps changing, have you checked in the C:/Windows folder to see if there are any $N....... type folders listed (this is how XP works at least and not sure about W98SE or ME now). Those folders hold the uninstall information regarding all the hotfixes with a folder for each one downloaded and installed. Nearly all of them include a direct URL shortcut to the MS site regarding that particular hotfix.
