My tungsten E2 seems dead. Where should I start trouble shoo

This unit is about 5 years old. I have changed the battery once about 2 years ago. It is completely dead. No nothing. Won't hot sync or power up with cable hooked up. Where do I start??

That model is known to fail like that. Fix? open it up, disconnect the battery, go get a drink, come back and hook up the battery.

I may have revealed it before but PalmOS and many of those models have crossed my path as I wrote apps for PalmOS for over 10 years. I have the big apps on Windows Mobile but Microsoft canned that so it's onwards to Android. Hint!

The battery you can "convince" to be recharged with an external source, like universal charger flip catches and contact with mobile blades. If you observe polarity when connecting.

The issue with the E2 is not a charging issue.

This and another model can't be reset unless you pull the battery lead or wait a few months for it to run down and reset. Most of us can't wait for that and as such, this is the fix.
