I'm hoping that someone can help. I am thinking of getting a Verizon HTC Smartphone. But the extra cost for the Data Plan is making me holding off. So I'm thinking maybe it would be a wise investment, IF I can access the internet from our home computers via the HTC Smartphone Data Plan. I'm just trying to avoid paying internet access TWICE. Once for our home computers and Twice for the PDA/ Smartphone. Does anyone have any feedback on this?

The smartphone must support it (most newer HTC models do) and the provider (Verizon) must support it. Verizon has drug its feet in the past, trying to get its customers to pay for their separate PC services, but has made it an option for owners of select smartphone models. When you ask them about availability, specifically use the term "tethering" and make it clear you're prepared to walk if they push additional fees.
