Which PDA for Voice Recording, Office Suite, and Multimedia?

I have been desperately searching for ''the PDA'' for me and, as is so often the case with electronics, just when I think I've found it, I also find a few catches.
The reason I need the PDA is an upcoming trip I will be taking to Namibia (Southern Africa) for some sociological research as well as teaching. I want to be able to capture audio (personal dictation and interviews), scribble notes and compose documents regarding information I find about the different regions I visit (Word and Excel both), compile the notes and audio clips into Powerpoint presentations, and be entertained (mp3s, movie files, and emulation is probably the name of the game here) during the travel between areas.
A long battery life would be a plus as I have no idea how long I will be without electricity in some areas. Similarly, a QWERTY keyboard (part of the PDA or as a wireless addition) would be a benefit if I am without access to my laptop for a while (best case scenario, I am able to ditch the laptop when I travel the more remote areas and just pack in a PDA + Accessories and my video camera). Because of the research I am doing, I would definitely like to know that I can download/install a calculator application that will mimic a TI-83 for statistical calculations. A camera would also be a plus because pictures would be a nice addition to my Powerpoint presentation, but it is far from necessary. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are things I would love to have, if not for this trip, but to future proof my purchase and insure that I will use it when I return to school.
The Palm TX and LifeDrive are both very attractive to me (when coupled with a wireless keyboard). I like the LifeDrive for its built-in voice recorder, large storage size, and fast CPU but feel like the XT will offer a better form factor, useability, and battery life when I toss in a decent sized SD card and an external mic (they do exist!).
I don't have any preference at this point to Palms, PocketPCs, or any other PDA/Handhelds so consider me a clean slate.
I thank you all in advance,
Jesse
