Using Darik's Boot and Nuke

I have 5 laptops that I'm attempting to wipe clean so that I can donate by years end.

I burned a CD of Darik's Boot and Nuke.

I was able to wipe 3 of the five.

The other two [one XP & one Vista] both initiate the CD but stall with the following message:

Darik's Boot and Nuke 2.2.6 (beta) is starting.

Waiting for USB devices to register.................... done.

PCI (sysfs)

...and then nothing else, it just stalls.

Any suggestions?

I have encountered laptops that it can't wipe.

For those I have to use alternatives or just partition and format with Linux or another OS.

Your new to PC worker or tech might get fixated on a single tool or solution.
