Pogoplug Cloud

Hi,
Just wanting some opinions on Pogoplug that I just received an email from cnet saying it is free for life for members.
Is it really free? Also since you can access information from your home computer to your cell from thousands of miles away. I am concerned about security and wonder what you think. I just have until midnight to make a decision.

I would read that blog page carefully. I see it mentions "In partnership with CNET, you can buy Premium software at 50 percent off the regular price of $29". So does that mean you have to purchase software first? I don't know as I am not a cloud user.

You may want to read Pogoplug's Privacy Statement for details about security.

For more legal information, read their TOS.

As to access, as long as you can access the web site from wherever you are, then your data will be available to you.

I would just say, in all of these 'cloud' options, we only lose what we don't back up. If anything ever happened to a cloud storage option, you would then at least have your backups.

It says in red print that if I click the buy now there would be no charge for members.
I don't know about purchasing software but if true it is misleading to say the least!
