File search software for Windows 7

For 10 years with XP I used a file search program called PC Data Finder 5.5 from SilverLake Tech. After a since indexing of selected folder/files on the entire drive, it will find any phrase, number sequence, etc. in under 1 second.

It will not run under Windows 7 and I am looking for a replacement. Does anyone know of anything?

Some keywords you could use are as they list
Related searches: . search, .file finder, .windows search, .desktop search, .file manager . .

or think of other words that describe your needs such as file cataloguer. There are a lot of files in thes categories and you would need to narrow them down to match your requirements .

One program I use is this one which will work on 64 bit Windows -Copernic Desktop Search home

and I then went from there to this link which describes the various versions-I purchased the Pro many years ago before Windows 7 and have stuck with it

You will read on CNET downloads it is ranked No. 14 in search tools....I clicked on that list -and it came up with these

Do a bit of searching and you will find what you want or need.

I like Total Commander for file search, it's a good file manafer for Windows.
