Sony Vaio and Giga Pocket

I have this computer and the software. I would like to copy a TV program onto a DVD. The whole process works fine except it will not record close caption text. When I view the program while it is being transmitted the text is there. Hence it is received by my comuter. However the recording on the DVD does not have the text. Sony says not available at this time. Is there a design around? In the days of non-mandatory close caption circuits in the TV there was available a conveter box. Is there anything like that now. What would happen if I pluge the Video and Audio outputs of a conventional TV into the corresponding inputs of the computer.

You are correct that the NTSC/PAL signals for closed
captioning are dropped by all video capture devices I
know of.

Seems you, as the creator of the new content will have to
get DVD authoring software and plug all that back in.

You can buy better video capture software as you can
find with this Google.
