Quictime Corrupted

I cannot run, uninstall, repair, or re-install Quicktime. Error messages refer to "installation package not available", and to quicktime.msi. Re downloading Quictime, or iTunes+Quicktime doesn't help. Is there a utility, or procedure for starting fresh?
I use Windows XP Media Center Edition.
