connect second computer to internet

Using winxp home, sp2. DLink 4 port wired router (DI604) and SBC DSL exterior modem.

I currently have only one computer, but getting another to put in another room 35 feet from existing computer.

What is cheapest way to be able to use either computer to connect to the internet?

I would like to use either computer for the internet and I don't want to set up a second account if I can avoid it.

Appreciate any suggestions on the best cheapest way to go.

Ethernet cable...

The cheapest way, since you already have a wired router, would be to search for a 50' ethernet cable and string it from the primary computer to the secondary. You probably won't find one that long in the store, but check out newegg.com's selection ranging from $5 to $15. (click here) The other route would be to get a wireless router and wireless adapter on sale...watch the circulars for a while and you may be able to find a good deal. It would be more sightly, but also more expensive. ($50+ for the two items.)

The router splits the connection among the computers connected so that you all may connect to the internet at once. This prevents you from having to have a second connection, cable modem, etc.
