mobile phone contacts app

is there an all encompassing software to edit/manage contacts between cell phone and pc?

all the software i see supports ceratin phones,,,but i was thinking maybe there might be a software that supports everything,,,especially since the phone are all connected by usb, so all one needs is a reader to manage the sim chip data. am i wrong on this assumption?

want to manage contacts in the SIM card, then there is a SIM card manager you can buy at many computer or electronic stores. However, SIM cards can only keep a limited number of contacts. I believe 250 max.

For many people who use PDA phones w/ Window base they can use Microsoft active sync to sync the contacts and other applications.

All other regular cell phones, they have their own softwares. For example, for Motorola phones, you can use Motorola Mobile Phone tools to sync. MPT will keep updating its database and programs to suit new Motorola models.

general contacts program

I am having this problem too. I don't want to use a specific brand based program for my mobile phones and I don't want to use outlook or windows contact.
I would like a stand alone program for my pc where I can keep Names, Addresses, phones and email addresses. I would like to be able to then transfer what I need from there onto any new device.

Any ideas?
