Had to return two internet suites recently released as they were bug ridden and they could not provide any fixes or work arounds for the bugs -all they could say was they will be fixed in a future release.

By that time the refund period would be over -so I just requested the promised refund and purchased elsewhere.

Those products many users think are perfect.

Nortons and or Mcafee??

I learned the hard way about McAfee, took me monthes get them out my system--I am not familiar with Nortons and don't plan to try it. I learned MANY years ago Statistics are not worth the paper they are written on--the reviews about McAfee could have been written by McAfee--most of these statical things are unsigned----I have had AVG long time and am staying with it--there are several good ones on the market but don't let statistics plan your way--protect yourself. Even some of these signed ones, the promoters can't be found or a very small amount of people were surveyed.

Panda is the best !

Hi all ,

IMHO PandaSoftware's Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 is the best one you can get.
But , a minor negative point is the built-in firewall , it doesn't work that well.

But , there are many freeware firewalls out there , like ZoneAlarm , so , there is no problem, lol.

I have also "been there , done that" with both , Norton and Mcafee , and I must advice everyone to stay away from them.
Unless you are a die-hard Norton or Mcafee lover , of course... But don't tell me I didn't warn you all about it.

I don't trust those freeware antivirus programs either.

Well, just a matter of opinion , I think.

Just install a good anti-virus program and also anti-spyware software as well , to keep your computer safe.

I only trust Ad-Aware and Spybot Search & Destroy as free anti-spyware programs.

I also got Microsoft Antispyware Beta installed , but I barely use it. LOL

I feel that NOD32 is the best av out there. It has the best heuristic detection, and if you don't believe me, visit http://www.av-comparatives.org/ and see NOD's performance in the proactive test. They also have one of the highest detections in the on-demand comparitive. In addition, nod does not slow down your pc. Also, it is relatively cheap for an antivirus and has awesome support. It also has a trial. So why don't you give it a try?

NOD 32 is the best...

NOD32 is the best for overall detection/protection followed by Avira which unfortunately has many false positives which to an inexperienced user can be a troublesome as malware itself.

NOD32 has very few false positives and I have used it for years.

Windows 7 Antivirus

Now that it's been almost 4 years, the antivirus market is a bit different and the original poster has probably been through several different programs at this point.

I found this post during my search for ones that will work with Windows 7 (obviously not going to help me much). So far I've found a list of 5;
