New in DTP :)

Hello lads!
I am George. I do 3d graphics for TV, but I now have to design and layout a catalogue to be offset printed.The catalogue will be in full color. I realize that designing the above is one thing,and making it correct to be printed IS ANOTHER! I am planning to use InDesign. What do I have to be careful for? I am going now through tutorials like hell, but I need a word from experts too. And a rather silly question: What if I gave the pages of the catalogue as PSD or EPS real size 300dpi res files to the service provider -offset printer? Do they have to be in CMYK color mode necessarily?

-> The service provider dictates that. Some are nice enough to work with what you give them and some run the show like 'The Soup Nazi.'

300dpi sounds a little low for print work. Ask them for what to use.

http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bb51427 sees the over 2400dpi number I used to see bandied about.

This doesn't really answer the question but hopefully your printer service will.
