Snap.do (snap do) malware/adware removal?

Hi CNET users,
I was streaming a show on a website, and one of the players did not work unless I downloaded a preferred video player. I downloaded it, but I also downloaded this snap.do (browser hijacker?). I scanned using my free AVG but nothing really popped-up.
Out of desperation, I opened my three installed browsers (mozilla, chrome, IE) and just went on to click the reset browser to default/original settings. It was a late Christmas miracle, but the snap.do no longer shows on my browsers.
Every time I searched on the http bar of chrome, it usually directs me to a snap.do web results, but no more.
I guess, my concern is, am I safe already? I uninstalled the program and other added programs through my control panel, and reset all my browsers.
I just don't like these virus stuff. I don't even know if my data will be breached because of this. It makes me uneasy and hard for me to go to sleep since this is my only laptop and my data is important to me.
