Security Alert Certificate

I use AOL desktop for my email. The AOL desktop is showing a Certificate Alert with a yellow exclamation mark beside "The name on the certificate is invalid or does not match the name on this site." More information: issued to a248.e.akami.net; issued by Cybertrust Public SureServer SV CA; valid from 7/16/2013 - 7/16/2014. I see these certificates on websites and proceed by closing them, but am uneasy seeing the certificate on my AOL desktop and proceeding without it.
I could do the following but am nervous about so doing without approval of a Guru type here on Cnet, as I do not want to do anything to compromise my machine's security.
1. IE's Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
2.Click the Security tab.
3.Click the Custom Level button.
4.Locate the setting "Don't prompt for client certificate selection when no certificates or only one certificate exists", and click the Enable radio button.
Appreciate some help, but please no lectures on my use of AOL ....
