Infected CNET download

Om 3/16, I came to CNET looking for a global filename editor, because I had always trusted CNET.
I believe the program I downloaded was DirEdit. I can't be absolutely sure because the program opened once and then disappeared completely. I went to control panel to search and sorted the programs by date.
The program I installed was not shown at all but 'search protect by conduit', mixiDJ V8 toolbar, and getsavin had all installed at the time of running the CNET download.
These were not caught by Malwarebytes Pro nor did they appear in a full scan. A full scan and a boot time scan with Avast free also failed to detect it.
After several days of deleting Chrome extensions and false home pages, deleting files, and removing over 50 instances in my registry, the malware remains.
I would appreciate it if CNET could check this particular download and possibly other top search results.
If you have any hints on eliminating the malware, that would be good, too.
