How do I read registry errors? Would norton antivirus do the best job for my problem?

There are a bunch of apps out there willing to tell you what errors you have in the registry. But consider the following.

Take a brand new install of Windows and run one of these registry checkers and it reports more than a hundred errors.

-> How can that be?

When it comes to an antivirus you are the best person for the job. You decide to install this or that, open some attachment or not and where to go on the internet. There is no better protection than what the user can provide.

Thanks for your answer on the registry errors. I am a little confused by your idea that there is no better protection than what the user can provide; that is why I am on this site to get feedback from the pros.I am scared that I am going to make more problems for my computer using so many downloads.

The reason there are so many tools is that not one tool finds or corrects it all.

Here's what I have on my PC. A short list.

1. Avast (the free one)
2. The stock firewall.
3. I don't use IE but Chrome and SeaMonkey (most will use FireFox.)
4. I added Web Of Trust and AdBlock Plus to my browsers.

That's it. And in one year my scans have found harmless cookies.

I downladed malawre byes and somer programs, how do i uninstall them?

That looks like two questions.

1. "clean my computer".

---> MAYBE!!! There are far too many pests and viruses to expect any tools to clean them all.

2. "registry clear"

Not one of the items I've listed so far report or scan the registry for "errors." That's something you find in those other apps. Yes, these will scan the registry for trojan and other pests but your posts make me thing you've fallen for some registry cleaner scam.

As to uninstalling I use the control panel in Windows and if need be the old Delete button on my keyboard.
