Clarification request: Can you share a little more?

What did McAfee offer that sold you on their offerings? Here I use the usual free AV's you see mentioned here and as a test I went a month then scanned the PC with help from Grif (link at http://forums.cnet.com/7726-6132_102-5098912.html?tag=posts;msg5099421 )

I came up with a few tracking cookies so it appears that what I use and how I use my PC is fine.

So here's my recipe.

1. One of the Free AV's.
2. Use another browser such as Firefox (I use SeaMonkey because of the editor.) Then add WOT and AdBlock+.
3. I don't visit sites that WOT turns red on and no cracked software for me.

What sold me on McAfee?

I can install it on my netbook and my Mac and not have to worry about it.
It lets me know what it wants to do and I can set it to always ask or to automatically do its job.
