Spyware, viruses, & security forum: Anti Virus Protection

Do some research on boxed AV softwares to get some user feed back and comparisons. There are so many diferences of opinion on what to use for AV software it can be extremely confusing. If you decide to use something instead of Mcafee, be sure that you download and run the Mcafee removal tool prior to attempting to load something else otherwise you will surely be a not so happy camper. I have used many different boxed AV softwares over the years (experimentation etc.) and have used Bit Defender and it seemed to run reasonably well in comparison to others. Remember though, there is no such thing as a totally fool proof AV software.

To be honest with you I have never been a fan of downloading AV upgrades online, I far prefer having the software (disk) should for one reason or another I need to do a reinstallation/re code. Personally I have never been a fan of Mcafee software, some like it some don't, I don't. There are so many AV packages out there it is hard to choose between many and most. For my purpose I use Kaspersky on several computer systems with very good results, that is my choice and again some like it and some don't. For the past five years I have used the Kaspy software and have yet to have an issue, I use it on laptops and desktops wirelessly and hardwired and thus far it has performed flawlessly for me and I do considerable computer work involving the use of varied browsers, mail servers and after market software. It is not cheap by any stretch but I would rather pay the price than to fight glitches and bugs in my systems, been there done that.

--Completely uninstall McAfee using this tool: http://singularlabs.com/uninstallers/security-software/

Suggest uninstalling via Add/Remove first, then run the uninstaller for McAfee second. You may have to run this tool in Safe Mode to ensure it runs properly.

--Second, obtain your Kaspy software first, uninstall whilst offline, install Kaspy offline, then go online to register and update. Will prevent problems this way.

Should be good to go after that.
