Manage updates with the Download App
I get the above window with the following message:
"Security Essentials detected items on your PC that it doesn't recognize. By sending the files listed below, you can help Microsoft analysts determine whether these items are malicious." It then lists the items. I click on the SEND. This same message occurs continuously over several days, with the same items.
I have no way of contacting MS. Where can I go to get this problem solved?
My equipment:
HP PAVILION ALL-IN-ONE PC MS225
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
System Model AY587AA-ABA MS225
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD Athlon™ II X2 250, 1600Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)

Did it specifically read the files had not yet been classified, as in the below?
'Microsoft Security Essentials has detected items that may have not yet been classified for risks. Sending these files can help Microsoft analysts to determine if these items are malicious.'
IF so, it doesn't necessarily mean the files are infected. But that's not what you asked. If you're having a problem submitting the files, see if you have any luck with the below. Take note of the dropdown menu next to "Product", where you would (obvioulsly) choose MSE.

Try the above first. If no luck, give this a try: https://support.microsoftsecurityessentials.com/
While you're waiting for a response, you always have the option of taking advantage of VirusTotal. It's is an online service which analyzes suspicious files. (Microsoft is one of the 40)

Thank you for your reponse. I know, from previous experience in this type of matter, that it will take time to completely follow thru on your suggestions. I just want to say thank you now, so you don't think I ignored your response. I WILL be following your suggestions.
