I would clarify that i have no contact with the rogue, I did not use it, I need not remove it.
I am however,interested in the genuine MD, such as is presented at Softpedia. Ifthe genuine MD has an easy

As far as I can tell, the link you provided ( http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=54666 ) leads to a thread at Wilder's titled, "MJ Registry Watcher". Was that your intention?

Or perhaps you meant, "Malware Defender 2.8.0.0001"?

There may be a tutorial at the developer's site, but I see it's written in Chinese. If you're able to read Chinese you might find one there. Wilder's does have a thread titled, "Configuring Malware Defender The Easy Way". However, it was created in 2009.

I can only presume the reason it was recommended to turn the Internet Guard off, was due the possible conflict with MSE. You wrote it was 'basically quiescent'. I'm not so sure. You will have to be the judge of how compatible it is with MSE. If you haven't read the MSE "checklist", you might want to give it a quick review.

A couple of things..

I don't know if you've seen this 33 page thread ("Malware Defender") at Wilder's, but if you haven't you may find some useful information.

Try to pay close attention to those posts, where Online Armor is referenced, since you have it installed.

I'm trying to avoid including my personal opinion, since it wasn't asked. But I would like to add just one other thing.

In a prior thread, you questioned Comodo and OA. You seem to be looking for software which is going to afford you the best protection. It's what we ALL want. The software you experimented with, will all do (more than) an adequate job. As you no doubt know, security starts with you. You are the first line of defense.
