Hi Sig..
You haven't provided very much information. I've had to take bits and pieces from your prior posts, which makes it that more difficult to figure out what to suggest. I'm at somewhat of a loss.
I explained in this post what I thought might help. The links include step by step instructions. The only changes I would make at this point, is to first try using the Backdoor.Tidserv Removal Tool. The instructions and tool can be found HERE.
In my prior post, I first recommended following the instructions in "Boot.Tidserv - Removal. The removal guide suggests using the Norton Power Eraser tool for Boot.Tidserv. The tool comes with a warning:
"Because Norton Power Eraser uses aggressive methods to detect threats, there is a risk that it can select some legitimate programs for removal. You should use this tool very carefully."
For the above reason, I'd rather you first run the removal tool for Backdoor.Tidserv Removal, on the outside chance it will help. If it doesn't help, proceed to scan with the tools I suggested in my prior post. (TDSSKiller, ESET's Online Scanner and Hitman Pro) We can always try Norton Power Eraser, if the other tools fail to help.
You might also want to check to see if your Proxy Settings have been changed:
Open Internet Explorer. Go to Tools>Internet Options>Connections Tab. Click on the "LAN Settings" button. If there is a check in the box "Use a proxy server for your LAN", uncheck it. Click "OK". Then "OK", again.
Open Firefox. Go to Tools>Options>Advanced. Click on the "Network" tab. To the right of where you see ""Configure how Firefox connects to the Internet", click on the "Settings" button. Put a tick mark next to "No proxy". Click "OK". Then "OK", again.
I'd like to add one piece of advice. It's your prerogative which sites you wish to visit. Having said that, if you continue to visit them, you will (no doubt) continue to get re-infected. NO software will protect you from the actions you take.
I'm going to delete one of your duplicate posts. I'm not online all the time, but eventually I will see your posts. I wouldn't worry about which software to use at this point. Let's see if we can clean up "the mess" first.
Best of luck..
Carol
