I DID A CLEAN INSTALL OF WINDOWS 7 AND VIRUS STILL EXISTS

The following were still present on my laptop after doing a custom clean install of windows 7 to replace the windows virus riddled laptop I had. The clean install did not get rid of everything, this may be as the clean install took from the old windows xp certain system files and kept them when installing the new windows 7. im not sure why but this is what was found after the first scan:


TROJANWIN32/HILOTI.GEN!D
TROJANDOWNLOADER:JS/RENOS

PROGRAM:WIN32/POWERREASCHEDULER

ROGUE:WIN32/FKESPYPRO


CAN ANYBODY HELP WITH MAYBE DOING ANOTHER CLEAN INSTALL, WOULD THIS GET RID OF THE VIRUSES AND I'D HAVE A NEW COMPUTER, OR SHOULD I JUST ATTEMPT TO GET RID OF THE VIRUSES. DOES ADJUSTING THE PARTITION HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS??

A clean install ...

INCLUDES partitioning and formatting the drive when installing the new OS. This eliminates all the existing files on the partitions.

Looks like you are not doing that so the files would be found when scanning.

Also, you do not mention the utility you are using for the scan. You may be getting false positives depending on the exact file located for each "threat". For instance POWERREASCHEDULER is being noted as a rogue application but Microsoft indicates it likely isn't -

i will look at your links but i was scanning using microsoft security essentials which has now got rid of what existed but i installed windows in the first place to get rid of the virus/es but hopefully second time aorund i can can get it sorted, thanks again.
