cpu and ram meter 2.1 seen as trojan.gen (cnet downwload)

Norton internet security recently identified this on my computer as a trogen.gen

I am wondering whether this is newly discovered or an error. I found out as it did not load on boot... I submitted to symantec, but was wondering as it indicated it as a safe download. I dont think its become infected by another virus, it states it as a high risk as of December this year.... removed it on 28th...

Anyone know anything about it? I restored the file from a backup and it instantly removed it...

Until such time Symantec gets back to you, another option would be to upload the file to VirusTotal. It's an online service which analyzes suspicious files using different A/V engines. http://www.virustotal.com/

You wrote you 'found out as it did not load on boot'. Read the user reviews/comments. It seems to be a common problem.

I can't tell you with 100% certainty, whether or not it's a false detection. Uploading the file to VirusTotal should give you a better idea.
