Spyware, viruses, & security forum: lucomserver_2_5 exe

Each of the Symantec AntiVirus components has a different list of services that need exceptions to work with the firewall. These services are as follows:

Symantec AntiVirus Server
Rtvscan.exe
Pds.exe
Lucomserver.exe or Lucomserver_2_5.exe

it's a part of norton anti virus, i would give it access.

I seem to have the same problem, prior to 11/26/04 each
day Norton anti-virus live update engine would try to
refresh my virus definitons, i would select allow and
everything fine.
The problem is recently when tries to log on the color
the alert is different and states "Changed Program".
I also, noticed recently, I am getting the famous
windows blue screen "System low on memory Norton anti-virus may not be able to function properly"

To investigate...i tried to manually run live update
but was denied...each time recieving a Visual C++ message stating it wants to shutdown. This is spyware
i will attempt to remove and keep you posted.

I am running Norton Internet Security, and when I actively try to run Live Update, it does bring up the LuComServer warning. I never had this warning come up, however, until I blocked all incoming IP's in the range of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2. I did this because every time I connected to the internet, I had between 3 and 8 remote access attempts from IP's in this range Should I permanently allow these, or does doing this leave me vulnerable?
