UPS/Fed Ex Delivery Failure virus

I hope I'm in the right forum for my question. I recently this virus alert:
" A virus is circulating called UPS Delivery Failure. Applies to Fed Ex as well. You will receive an email from UPS Packet Service along with a packet number. NOTE: The word packet is misspelled(paket)on this line. It will say that they were not able to deliver a package sent to you on such and such a date. It then asks you to print out the invoice copy attached. DON'T TRY TO PRINT THIS. IT LAUNCHES THE VIRUS! Snopes confirms that it is real: http://www.snopes.com/computer/virus/ups.asp "
It is listed in Snopes and originated in July '08. Obviously, it is showing a resurgence before the holidays since the creator targets UPS/Fed Ex customers. I have not rec'd this email, but would like to alert my contacts.
Can you verify and is there a removal tool that you are aware of?
