If you do not want your opening (Home) page to instantly load up your machine with ads etc. perhaps go to IE Options and click "Use Blank" as home page. It should then show "About:Blank" as home page. Default will route you thru MSN (ad central). Your ISP may also be routing your opening page through themselves to gain click payments.

Suggest setting http://www.google.com/ as your search page.
Spybot can also set & lock your preferred Home & Search pages when opened in "Advanced mode" (mode upper left of S&D opening page.

If using other browser (Mozilla or...) you should also be able to set Blank Page as start/Home page. If these do not solve your problem, please post back for further steps available. G'Luck!!

Go to Security Options, click on the restriced zone and in sites, list them both to permanently block them. Darrell

You can also install the MVPS hosts file, which will block not only doubleclick.com, but several thousand other spyware, malware, nuisance, etc., sites:

Not to mention any names, but there are some very well known newsletter sites on the Internet, that use this doubleclick advertising company and its irksome 'Cookie' strategy. There has also been moves a-foot by a so called reputable O/S company, to buy that nuisance company out. Quite what the genuine motives are for this intended purchase, remain to be seen, but if you do not want ad.doubleclick.com creeping un-announced into your machine and privacy, try this if you are using IE7.
Click on 'Tools' at the top of your browser, scroll down and click on 'Internet Options' then click on the 'Privacy' tab, now click the 'Sites' button and type into the 'Address of Website' box this line of text:-
@ad.doubleclick.com
and then click the 'Block' button, now click the 'OK' buttons and that miserable vermin cookie ad.doubleclick.com should no longer enter your machine. Download, install and run the FREE "Ad-Ware SE Personal" application or "Spybot S&D" to make sure that you have successfully banished that nasty type of cookie.

i have ad aware free and pro they dont find half as much as superantispyware another free program and also ive had some real stubborn adware spyware where no one could tell me how to get rid of them i tried a registry cleaner i might have been lucky but they were gone and never had them back
