I think that the idea behind the law or doctrine was to help us decide what was right, not to enforce the letter of the law, etc.. In our political correct age this feeling or idea behind the word has been twisted to mean something that lawyers use to make more money... WE the people have the right ... TO CHOOSE !!! NOT THEY / MAIN STREAM gossip !!! If one looks in THE BOOK it is also written there from the scrolls....

of why the people need to stay armed. When slavery ended, it didn't really end. All that happened is government slavery began.

You might note the miners didn't blame the blacks for what they were forced into as "inmates" on "convict lease", even giving them food and clothing after freeing them, all while trying to get decent wages for themselves since obviously the mine owners wanted to play slave wages.

We will always need to have guns, for when change can't happen any other way.

It took me almost 20 years to come to the realization that the Canadian government wasn't out to get me. It's an endemic attitude in the US where I was born and I now recognize it as a type of shared paranoia, based on nothing except what people keep telling themselves. It's a species of Social Disease, a shared psychosis. Perhaps Quebec with their sense of being under pressure and threat from the English majority in North America is more akin to the US in that respect than anywhere else in Canada.

It's the difference between a violent Revolution, and a peaceful negotiation for independence i.e. Canada.

Distrust of Government is enshrined in the history books in the US. Respect for self-restraint and reliance on reasoned argument and negotiation is enshrined in Canadian histories.

but I know quite a few people that whenever they can sit around watch tv, play on a computer, read books, and would rather sit at home doing that than going to work. Only reason is a pay check, once you take that away, and the need for it, who knows if they wouldn't all the time.

I wonder how many right here over the years spent a lot of their free time on a computer?

If you owned the criminals and if you rented them at low wage scale. Didn't do much for the lower income class of citizens since it removed jobs they could have obtained.
