So just multiply across numerators, then denominators, the reduce a/r.

2/7 * 3/4 = 6/28 = 3/14 e.g.

Say, is this a political thread?? Don't tell my elders I replied!

What I am asking is how many of us absorbed that as a fundimental truth of the universe? Worth ultimate aceptance. And of such great importance that we remember it before and foremost, before (say) Shakespeare.
You ask at the Thanksgiving table, 1/3 of 1/2, and the adults wait. The kids try to think of search terms.
Fundamentals are seen as temporary hurtles to be gotten over on your way to beating "the other guy" into the dirt.
Even now. Quickly. 1/3 of 1/2?

Many high school kids don't know that "per" indicates "divide by". (As in MPH) I subbed in an elementary class where the teacher posted a useful list of such words-to-math clues; I guess nobody looked.
