VA Governor

and a few others after a Governors' Conference recently are looking into doing away with the State Gas Tax completely and increasing the State Sales Tax instead by a half of a percent. VA has a 17.5 cent gas tax that would lower the cost of the gas for everyone benefiting everyone who really needs the tax break for jobs or looking for jobs, but by increasing the sales tax by a half a percent, the State will tap everyone to pay into the system nearly triple what the gas tax alone does since most either don't have vehicles or carpool or don't drive much at all. We already have one of the lowest sales tax rate in the country so a half a percent won't hurt consumers much and everyone then pays their 'fair share'. Good stuff.........
Now we only have to hope that the BO administration doesn't increase the Fed Gas Tax like they have been talking about. But even if they do, I don't think it will be as high as the 17.5 cents that VA will do away with because the Fed tax would be across the country.
