With apologies. How do I create a link using text in place

of the URL. I wanted to place a post on the Colt London Armoury linked to a Google Books source, which has an Url several miles long.

Two sets of brackets with the text in between

You'll open with something like your text here . The opening and closing use of "url" are critical. The closing will be as typed using the front slash. I will sometimes bold or italicize the text using the usual methods. An easy way to capture the link, of course, is to just copy/paste it between the equals sign and closing bracket. You can use the test forum to try it out.

I made a valid construction of a link that didn't exist. You need an opening and closing set of brackets with your text between them. I'll use a bogus * to foil the example so leave those out. Your post will look like *[*url=your link here*]*your text here*[*/url]. Do it that way without the*s

Since we don't offer the ability for you to use HTML codes in our forums to stylize your text, you can utilize some basic BBS codes that will allow you to stylize your text in your message. Below is what is available for you to use:
