Immigration reform. I really like what's going on here

While the fine details and implementation plan aren't completely know, I agree that something other than rounding up the illegals and deporting them is a must. We've turned a blind eye to this problem over many presidencies and have created this problem ourselves. Whether we like it or not, we and our government are to blame for not enforcing our own laws from the beginning. Instead, we've played politics with millions of people's lives over many decades. It's time to own up to our mistakes, show compassion for those we've let slip into the door and get over it.

Kudo's to the president if he can pull this off successfully.

What is certain is that, up until now, what we've been doing hasn't been working. If the plan I hear Obama outline is followed as he stated, I think it's a step in the right direction. What remains to be seen is whether or not it will be followed as he stated.

There is no point in removal until

you solve the problem of illegal entry, or of illegal hiring.

You solve illegal hiring, you won't have much problem with either entry or staying eventually.

There is always cash work, but that won't support the current numbers with even a slight tightening of enforcement on anyone knowing hiring or hiring without caring illegals.

or who have committed certain crimes in the US get no amnesty. I suspect that, as the plan rolls out, the actual rules could change.
