Just a dumb thought regarding gun control and

the background thinking behind the second amendment.
It's my understanding that, at least partially, the amendment was written to prevent what had happened back in merry old England...that guns had been taken away from citizens for reasons of lack of loyalty to the king. This was largely related to religious intolerance. Thus, in the US, it should be possible for forceful overthrow of the government...God forbid the need. Well, if the US government takes away military type combat weaponry from citizens, it only seems fair that a law should be passed to even the playing field. That law would ban the government from employing military resources to quell a citizen takeover of Washington. Those in government who would choose to repel such a movement would have their arsenal of weapons limited to that which was legally available to the general population. I chuckle when trying to picture some of our senators and congress people in camo and kevlar helmets carrying Walmart purchased rifles and pistols to fight back against voters. ![]()
