by Colt Arms Manufacturing. The current debate is about the easy availability of semi-automatic "assault style" weapons in the hands of crazy people and idiots. It is centred around the Whats-its-name AR-15 (I don't remember the manufacturer right at the moment) which was used in two mass shootings in two years and the upstate New York shooting of firemen right after Sandy Hook, I don't know anything that could me more relevant or appropriate. The debate is around semi automatic weapons with "high capacity" magazines. According to New York's new law, that's anything over seven rounds.

My father who owned a WW1 Luger and Steyr, a nice English double barrel shotgun and a Remington double barrel, a Savage Arms .250/3000 lever action, a scoped Savage .22, and a Smith and Wesson revolver with a ? 7 inch barrel, or maybe 6 inch, and a WW2 Lee Enfield Mk VI, thought gun nuts were nuts. The first three came from my Uncle who was in the First World War. He sold them all before I could inherit which I kind of regret because they were part of my youth, and I'd like to shoot the Luger again. The Steyr was a major dog, awkward and nasty to shoot. I'd have kept the first three as historical, wonderful pieces of machinery, and keepsakes for my son, but they were my father's to do with as he pleased.
