Although gun registrations are public records, these people didn't take into account that many of those names and addresses published include police and retired police (now the people they locked up know where they live), domestic violence victims that own guns to protect themselves (now spouses or others know where they live), etc. These people go out of their way to have unlisted phone numbers and confidential safety concerns that the newspaper didn't give a rat's about and have put a large number of people at risk now. Most criminal elements out there aren't scouring through public records at the gun registration department to locate someone.......or at least they never considered that before but they will now that they realize they can get their hands on whatever they want in order to get TO whoever they want to target.
