Remember the moon mission?
they calculated how old the earth and moon would be, the amount of dust from space, and were scared the lunar mission would hit the surface only to disappear beneath a few yards or more of dust on the moon. Turns out when they got there, that wasn't the case at all and they were quite surprised at how light the covering of dust on the moon actually was, indicating it was a lot younger than they believed. Since then they've tried to make claims the moon came along to the earth later, or was carved from the earth by a collision and so forth.
I like reading the oddities of Fortean artifacts found. Things like coal, supposedly millions of years old, having remnants of very advanced civilizations found inside those lumps of coal. A lot of assumptions that fails to meet the "anomalies" found, say the "date" of things are millions of years old, yet maybe they are instead just thousands.
If you are counting genealogies in the Bible, there may be large gaps of time between the major names mentioned there. Even today we use terms like "sons of Jacob" or "sons of Abraham" or of famous persons in other nations. Yet, obviously thousands of years may have passed between some of them.
Plenty of preachers on youtube which can explain these things to you, even about pre-flood civilizations and the artifacts which probably belong to them, contained in levels of rocks and coal the "smart scientists" assure us are millions of years old.
How old is the earth? That's the wrong question. Does it matter how old the earth is? That's the correct question.
