Another School Atrocity in 1927

There were signs this guy was going over the edge too. This was in the years just before the Great Depression, but that may not have factored into this one. His wife was dying from tuberculosis. He'd been defeated for a school board position. His mortgage and insurance was delinquent. He'd killed, beat his horse to death in fit of rage. He was socially shunned.

Can we not determine a pattern for those who would do such things?

I doubt the coming Depression factored in

That took pretty much everyone by surprise; it seems unlikely that this guy would have seen the crash coming two years ahead of time. His financial problems likely stemmed from the fact that he stopped working his farm.

It is interesting though to see that this isn't new behavior, and being that it was 1927 you can't blame movies, heavy metal music or video games.

No such pattern ascribable to Lanza.

He was a smart, socially awkward young adult. This description only apples to about a quarter of young adults.

even between mass killings today, even when looking only at those involving schools, but that might help even more to define characteristics that are common among most or all of them.
