Who's feelings about what happened matter most?
by Steven Haninger - 11/15/12 5:45 AM
Yours or the miners?
This could sound like some typical spiel designed to convince someone that they were exploited although they never expressed it themselves. Those who were their count. You impression does not.

Did I say something to make you do that?

an employer telling employees that attendance at a political event of HIS choice is "mandatory" and the employee will not be paid for attending?
We'd need to look at the law in that regard

We have laws as to what is compensatory and what is not. Employees in most segments do have mandatory requirements for which they are not compensated. I would be against breaking the law. If no law would have been broken, I could have no complaint.
The representative of the mine expressed that the decisions were based on the best interests of the company and that means their jobs...all of them. So here's a question for you. Which of the two candidates appeared to be the one most likely to threaten the jobs of these coal miners?
You have to look at a law to see what you agree with?

So much for you being an independent thinker.
We have laws as to what is compensatory and what is not.
Forget the compensatory part
an employer telling employees that attendance at a political event of HIS choice is "mandatory"
How bout the mandatory part?
You WILL attend the rally and you WILL enjoy yourself!
haha.......... Romney lost.
(NT) I guess my question of you will go unanswered

Your response was
"We'd need to look at the law in that regard"
Have you had a chance to look at the law yet?
Here's what I looked at

I listened to the entire 20 minute radio interview and watched the entire (approximately 12 minute) video the mine employees made. Did you do the same....watch and listen to the complete presentations? Here's my answer to your question now. I am very comfortable with the explanation the mine representative. He did indicate that supervisors could/did say that attendance was mandatory but that no one forced to go. Being that the mine would be closed for that time, no one would be working or paid. While I can understand that some would not be happy, the mine ownership can make that decision. I can live with that. That's my answer.
After viewing the response from the miners, it's clear to me that the media flack was uncalled for and falsely represented...in a big way. The miners sounded as though they were honored to be there and did enjoy themselves...mandatory or not.
Now who do you think these miners should have supported if keeping their jobs was important to them? Obama or Romney? Which one of them was a threat?

That's what you heard? "could/did say"?
NO...I read that "attendance was mandatory", and the company official didn't deny he said that, And that was enough for me, thank you very much.
IF he wants to shut the mine down so he can have a carnival in the parking lot, with a bunch of Republican clowns....GO FOR IT!
Don't tell me attendance is "mandatory", and there will be no consequences if you don't attend.
I guess the miners had the last laff....they ate his food, drank his soda pop and voted for Obama.
Once again, JP Bill, I'll ask YOU to answer MY question

Care to do so? It's not mandatory. I can't force you or threaten to fire you.

You can't force me...you could, but it would be difficult to prove you didn't.
You can't threaten to fire me "because I don't attend"
That's not quite right...You won't threaten to fire me "because I don't attend".
That doesn't mean you can't "fire me" and say I had to laid off people because "Obama was elected President."
Now who do you think these miners should have supported if keeping their jobs was important to them? Obama or Romney? Which one of them was a threat?
Can you tell what people "should have done" BEFORE the universe has unfolded?
Like I've already said when I saw 'mandatory" they lost MY vote. So IF I was a miner...Obama.
Which one of them was a threat?...Romney.
Are you happy?
Can YOU tell the future?
(NT) Thank you

There was conspicuous fraud in the 2000 election in Florida particularly including the prevention of a legal re-count, and conspicuous contradictions between the Voting Machines supplied by Diebold and the State Chairman of the Re Elect Bush Campaign who was its CEO, and the exit polling, There were also major irregularities in Ohio with the machines afterwards.
If there's a problem with the Ohio vote, check with Tagg Romney, Mitt's eldest son, who owns and controls the Voting Machines which were used in Ohio this election.
And are you suggesting that the 3 million plus vote majority that Obama scored over Romney is in question? If it's not, then Ohio is probably right.
More Right Wing Conspiracy Fakery and Toni heckling.

The Toledo News now is on your hotlist of unreliable sources? Good grief. Evidently you only believe in the HugBO Post and MSNBC as credible sources now.
And I've already proved that Tagg doesn't own those machines, so why keep perpetuating that lie? If you say if often enough, you must think the rest of the world will eventually believe it. I believe 'somebody' in history said that.
A 2% win is a win, of course.......it's just not a mandate.

Imagine if Gore had ended up winning that election with help from an "impartial" Secretary of State who also happened to be his campaign manager.

Obama's supporter's corruption is OK, because...well....he's Obama and can do no wrong, but any unsubstantiated charges during that other election is ALL BUSH'S FAULT that Gore lost. What a bunch of hypocrites. Splitting hairs.

I have not questioned the legitimacy of the win........I question the methods used by him since he needed to get Chicago dirty in order to get that win because he had nothing in four years that he was willing to brag about, including his two-year battle to get Obamacare passed which took threats and bribes to get it over the finish line and even lies to his own Senate Dems. Please get some new material since slam me with because your statements, although repetitive aren't true. I do not like that he won, I will continue to rant against him for the next four years, and I will wait to say "I told you so".
